The main body of this article is almost exactly as I submitted it 7 August 2025 to the Waco Tribune-Herald newspaper (the “Trib”), as a board-of-contributors item. It is a final wake-up warning for anyone who bothers to look at it. Update 8-19-2025: It ran essentially unchanged in the Tuesday (8-19-2025) "Trib" on the opinion page.
The appended image below was not part of the submittal to
the “Trib”, it is something I found
on-line at Getty images. That photo was
taken in Spain, which is why the
leftmost figure is their former dictator,
General Franco. Left-to-right, they are the dictators Franco, Stalin,
Hitler, and Trump. (Missing:
Mussolini, Putin, Xi,
and many more.) It would appear
that most in Europe are very well aware of the evil that is happening to
America! They’ve seen this many times before!
I would only add that Trump subverting the Constitution he
swore to uphold, may not be treason per
the two (and only two) definitions in that Constitution, but it is something edging very close to
treason! Especially when throwing that
Constitution away to impose a dictatorship upon America. That imposition is now almost complete.

Noah Feldman wrote an excellent column that appeared in the
“Trib” on Thursday 7 August 2025. While
he did not use the same words as me to name what is going on, he quite accurately described the ongoing
imposition of a Trump dictatorship. That
is exactly what consolidating all federal power into the executive branch
really means!
The Supreme Court majority has been giving Trump everything
he wants, no matter how
unconstitutional, by over-ruling those
lower courts’ rulings that go against him.
The Court’s minority dissent opinions clearly indicate this, and they do indeed highlight the danger to
our democracy, if you bother to read
them! My voice is not alone!
The majority of Congress has essentially abdicated all its
power to Trump, by giving him anything
he wants, even when he tries to
dismantle institutions Congress set up,
and refuses to spend funds Congress already allocated. Both of those outcomes are entirely
unconstitutional, by the way! Read it for yourself, including all the amendments. Congress’s last power, the power of the purse, is now no more!
Between
the Supreme Court and Congress, the
checks and balances have effectively already been destroyed! That was the real point of Feldman’s column!
Trump has begun muzzling the free press and academic
institutions, as well as large
corporations that might otherwise oppose what he does. You’ve all seen this taking place in the
news! Almost no entity has stood up to
him, excepting Harvard, and acting alone, they have no chance! Shame on those who failed to resist: you have helped destroy our democracy! Controlling all information is a hallmark of
every dictatorship this world has ever seen!
Trump has weaponized ICE to do his bidding instead of
following the law, and greatly expanded
it. This is going to be his secret
police to intimidate and oppress you all,
fulfilling the same role as Stalin’s KGB, and Hitler’s Gestapo and SS. Right now, it is deporting everyone it can find with
brown or dark skin, legal or not, and making them disappear to overseas
prisons, totally out of sight and beyond
help!
Hear my
warning: citizens of any color who
oppose him are next! The machinery to make
people disappear is already in place!
That is another hallmark of dictatorship.
Trump has weaponized multiple government departments and
agencies with minions as their heads who will do his bidding, not follow the law. This,
too, is a hallmark of every
dictatorship the world has ever seen.
One of the evils is misusing executive power to punish opponents or
people who say or do things Trump does not like, such as the head of the bureau of labor
statistics, among many, many others.
You are
about to lose your vote, your clean air
and water, your medical care, and your middle-class economy! Trump and his minions have proven that they
care not one whit about your life or anyone else’s, they only care about staying in power to have
control over all others! Putting an
incompetent vaccine denier in charge of your health care, and gutting all the science budgets and
environmental regulations, is proof
enough of this.
Don’t listen to the lies,
look instead at what they have actually done! Trump pardoned all the rioters that he
incited to attack the halls of Congress,
actually starting before he lost the 2020 election. You saw what they did, live on television, and you saw that Trump did not do anything to
stop the rioters, until it was clear
that his congressional opponents would not be killed. Why did he pardon the rioters? Because they were well-demonstrated by their
criminal actions to be supporters,
simple as that! Some of whom have
already gone on to commit more crimes after he pardoned them.
Why did Trump not want the Epstein files released? Two simple reasons: (1) he’s named in there multiple times, which should surprise no one, since he is an adjudged (and self-confessed) sex
abuser, in addition to being a convicted
criminal (which he is now trying to overturn),
and (2) he and his minions have been lying to you for years about how
the majority of their “deep state” opponents would be exposed there, when the truth really is that they are mostly
not listed. Trump and his minions are
actually the real “deep state”, and they
do not want you to know that, before
they can grab full dictatorial power over you!
The current between-census political gerrymandering talking
place here in Texas (and a few other places) is part of the larger effort to
rig the outcomes of all future elections.
This is exactly how the sham elections work in Putin’s Russia and in
Iran, among many others, that being a hallmark of many dictatorships. You’ve already seen this process start with
the 2016 election: the only elections
not falsely claimed to be rigged are the ones Trump or his minions win. The ones they lose, they try to overturn. Simple as that!
Your
last chance to stop this is the 2026 mid-term election. That is,
assuming their election-rigging efforts haven’t already rendered it a
sham by then, a very real risk!
Once your vote is no more,
your only remaining choice to stay free is revolution in the streets! And Trump knows that: he has been cashiering all the high-ranking
military officers who might choose to help you overthrow him. Surprise,
surprise!

Trump has vehemently resisted releasing the Epstein
files, which his cult supporters
believed had a client list containing many names of their political opponents. He has insulted those cult supporters who
wanted those files, and he has lied
egregiously about this issue (something verified) multiple times.
There may, or may not
be, any sort of “client list” in those
legal files. If there is, it may or may not have been compiled by
Epstein or his people; it might well
have been compiled by the government lawyers.
There are photos documenting that Trump was once a close friend and frequent
visitor to Epstein’s haunts.
One such is shown here,
and it is not a fake or an AI construct,
but it is a real Getty image. It shows Trump with Melania before they were
married, with Epstein (deceased in jail
during Trump’s first term), and Ghislane
Maxwell (Epstein’s girl friend now serving a prison sentence for sex
trafficking).
Why was Trump so desperate not to reveal the Epstein
files? All I can say is what I
believe, without a public admission or
(so far) any proof. In a word, Trump is on that “client list”, however it was compiled and whoever compiled
it. He is on the “client list” of a
convicted sex trafficker, including the
trafficking of underage girls. He did
not want you to know that!
You Trump cult believers can add that character fault to all
the other verified character faults this man has.
This is another one I found on LinkedIn that I thought I would post here. As readers of this blog already know, I often say “you are entitled to your own opinions, but you are NOT entitled to your own facts”.
Most of the totally-unregulated right-wing social
media, many cable television news
outlets, and most infamously on
broadcast and cable television Fox News,
are all well-known purveyors of lies and conspiracy theories. About 30% of which was planted there by the
Russians to divide us, and
successfully, as near as I can
tell. My opinion of the veracity of Fox
News has been in the toilet for about 30+ years now. To me, they are “Faux News”.
So, if you who get
your “facts” from such sources want to be smarter than most dogs, please come out of your echo chambers and
look around elsewhere!

Original article written 6-23-2025:
It would seem likely that we are starting down the path to
another long Mideast war, with no clear
end in sight, despite what government
officials claim. Netanyahu started
this, desperately wanting Trump to join
in, despite his campaign pledge not
to, and he did! Israel did not have the means to hit the
deeply buried facilities, and we
did, which is why this has taken place.
Iran’s regime is a set of terrorists, masquerading as religious clerics, using a private army (the Revolutionary
Guard) to stay in power as a dictatorship,
and abusing religion to justify to their captive people the evils they
have long done. They have been sending
out terrorist proxy armies to do their dirty work for about 4 decades now. I think most people would have to agree with
that entire assessment.
There never was any realistic hope of negotiating an end to
the Iranian nuclear weapon program,
because we are dealing with terrorists,
not any sort of people who value logic or the safety of their country
and its people. The previous nuclear
agreement only slowed their pace, until
Trump abrogated it in his first term.
It accelerated since then.
They now have a stockpile of reportedly-60% enriched uranium, which was evacuated from the sites before
Trump bombed them!
So all the pieces for an Iranian atomic bomb are still in
place, despite the bombing, including the terrorist government so
desperate to have those weapons!
Contrary to the claims in the news reports, you do not have to have 90% enrichment to
build an atomic bomb! Anything over 50%
will work!
Although, for the
same yield, much smaller devices can be
built at 90% than 50%. This is no
secret, it’s been in public libraries
since I first read it there as a young boy,
more than 65 years ago.
Regime change in Iran was the one and only realistic hope of
actually putting a stop to the Iranian atomic bomb! And now Netanyahu and Trump have made that
very much harder to accomplish, turning
the Iranian people against us by bombing their country, and killing civilians in the process. Plus,
the regime’s leaders have now gone into hiding, so that we cannot easily take them out
anymore.
The right way to have done this would have been to support
the Iranian people to rise up and do their own regime change from within, without making enemies of them by bombing
their country! They would just need help
overcoming the Revolutionary Guard.
Which without a war going on,
actually could have been done with targeted air strikes.
The Iranian people tried insurrection once before, during Obama’s administration, but failed,
because we failed to aid them.
Now, such a scenario is no longer
possible. The only regime change now
possible will have to be imposed from outside,
with boots on the ground, and
against a civil population rallying to defend their government from foreign
attackers.
You can “thank” Netanyahu and Trump for that really ugly
prospect! Although, “blame” is a better word.
Any child who has passed grade school social studies (taught
up to standard, not just “to the test”)
could have predicted some, or even
all, of this. But apparently neither Netanyahu nor Trump
understood the likely results of their actions,
and apparently they still don’t.
That conclusion is based on what they have done, not anything either of them said. Remember,
you can always tell when a politician is lying: his lips are moving.
I think both our countries have the wrong governments. The Iranians are not the only ones in need of
regime change.
Update 6-25-2025: The cease fire between Iran and Israel seems
to be holding, after some initial
violations. I am surprised but pleased
to see it. It means maybe we have
avoided getting into another endless war,
at least for a little while.
Meanwhile,
intelligence reports are still quite sparse, but some seem to indicate that what I said
above is true: the Iranians managed to
move out some of their enriched uranium and related equipment before the attack
took place. That is a thing that
President Trump really hates to hear,
because it directly conflicts with his chest-thumping.
Long term, do not
expect this cease fire to lead to any sort of permanent peace! You are not dealing with normal political
people as Iran’s government. You are
dealing with fanatical terrorists! They
will say anything and do anything, that
lets them continue their evil activities,
including building nuclear weapons.
Their history over the last 4 decades says so.
The only permanent solution here was, is,
and always will be, regime change
in Iran! Unfortunately, that will henceforth be hellishly
difficult, now that there has been a
direct war to alienate the civil population.
Plus, the ruling mullahs and the
Revolutionary Guard private army that keeps them in power, both survive intact.

Other photos taken a day or two before the strike show a lot
of unusual roadway truck activity.
Presumably, that was truck
traffic evacuating the materials and equipment,
anticipating a coming strike.
Update 6-29-2025: The continuing variance among intelligence reports within and without the government very strongly suggests that the US bombing did great damage to Iran's nuclear weapon efforts, but did not "obliterate it", as Trump insists. In fact, he gets quite angry with those who disagree with him over this, clear evidence of his fragile but enormous ego.
I think the truth lies somewhere in between the extremes of the various assessments, including ALL of them, even the first one Trump claimed to be "leaked". We set them back by somewhere between a few to several (or many) months. I also rather think that those Maxar photos showing heavy truck traffic at the Fordow site just before the strike, indicate that the Iranians got at least some of their enriched uranium out, and hid it elsewhere. And maybe some centrifuges, too.
Bear in mind, please, that further enrichment beyond their 60% is not necessary to build a workable nuclear weapon, it's just that the weapon will be very large and heavy, much like our first generation devices were. If too heavy for their rockets, they could always deliver it as a suicide truck bomb. Think about that!
Regime change in Iran is the only long term solution for this threat, exactly as I said above in the article! And Trump and Netanyahu have made that very difficult indeed, by starting this war, cease fire or not. The Iranian people will now tend to rally behind their government against foreign attackers, despite its brutal history of oppressing them. That's just human tribal nature.

This one makes fun of the security breach mess created by the demonstrably-incompetent Pete Hegseth, whom the Senate should NEVER have approved for Secretary of Defense! The only one I can think of who is even more demonstrably incompetent is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services, although there are several others very nearly as bad as Hegseth!
Kennedy the vaccine denier is going to get a lot of people killed by doing lot of very stupid things. Probably even a greater death toll than Musk and his DOGE are going to cause. And that’s a lot of dead people!
It starts
with Hegseth sending the Marines to the LA protests. One has to wonder who actually paid the hired
rioters to cause trouble. Could it
actually have been the Trump cult who hired the “ringers”, trying to make Trump opponents look bad? (That’s almost what Jan. 6 2021 was.)

I found these other two illustrations below, on-line for free download. Along with some rather amusing epithets for
Trump and his government, misbehaving illegally, un-Constitutionally, and anti-democratically the way they do. In my opinion, the very best of these epithets are:

Where I came across these is in the two illustrations
below. I hope you find them as funny as
I did. Although, given the dangers this regime poses to
America, this is gallows humor. The first one tries to show the truth vs the
lies Trump tells about Biden, and the
funny is at the very bottom of it.
I did see at least one mistyped number in the image just
above, but that makes no difference
to the point it is making about the propaganda lies with which we are
inundated. Virtually everything ever
claimed by this bunch, when actually
fact-checked, is not just false, but the majority of these are actually “pants
on fire” lies. There are thousands upon
thousands of such lies.
The next one is even funnier, at least to me. This is a photo someone took of a billboard somebody else put up. On-line, I found out you could get shirts and other stuff imprinted with what’s on that billboard. The choice of faces makes this “Turd Reich” assessment actually a multi-national problem.
But I will say
this: Trump has appointed a lot of
incompetent, unqualified turds to lead
various government agencies. Which
actually makes the funny into something quite accurate!
I have sent several messages to all three of my federal
representation asking them to do something to remove this crowd from our
government, before their “policies” and
mismanagement start killing us by the 10’s of thousands (and they soon will, while driving the rest of us into unemployed poverty).
My representative and senators have done nothing I can
see, which to my way of thinking makes
them complicit in these crimes, up to
and including treason of the “aid and comfort” type. I have told them that, too.
I am but one voice,
easily lost in the multitude.
The rest of you need to inundate your representatives and
senators with similar messages, so that
they know that they, too, will suffer the fate of traitors and
murderers, if they fail to act.

I’m unsure where I found this, but it is too good not to share. It is both true and funny, in a gallows humor sort of way.
And this other one just below is closely related.
There’s only been a few verified cases of illegal aliens actually
committing crimes here. Certainly less
than a hundred or so, although they get
ballyhooed into the public thinking there are lots of evil criminals among about
a hundred thousand immigrants in any given year.
But
when you get right down to it,
Trump, with his pardons of almost
two thousand convicted criminals who were also among his supporters, has set loose far more criminals upon America! Far beyond any among the illegal immigrants! And at least a handful of those Trump
pardoned have already been re-arrested for committing yet more crimes!
And then there is all the other Trump corruption, plus all the defying of the courts, and the general disregard of the law and the Constitution.
So, what did
you-the-majority expect when you elected a convicted felon who wants to rule
over you as a dictator? You are getting
EXACTLY what you voted for! Including
the distinct possibility of never having a real election to vote in, ever again!

Update 6-7-2025: I see "they" finally brought Kilmar Garcia back to the US, but NOT because the courts told them to! They did it to file charges against him for "transporting illegal immigrants", based on people in the vehicle with him that had no luggage, in a 2022 traffic stop. (In Tennessee, I think it was.) This is our Trump-weaponized DOJ violating the law by not doing what the courts ordered, but instead persecuting further an immigrant they already abused!
This one needs very little in the way of comment. So far, too many have bowed the knee to the would-be dictator. Bravo to Harvard for standing up to him!
Trump’s buddy Musk is the target of this one, also too funny not to share. Since this is his last official day as head of DOGE, I thought I’d better post this quickly.

Putin does not actually want any peace in Ukraine without totally destroying or conquering it. He never did. That is why Trump, after all these years, perhaps finally came to realize (at least a little bit) that Putin considers him a lap dog, not a friend among equals.
In turn, that is why Trump
is now publicly lashing out verbally at Putin.
Except that, being the egregious liar
that Trump demonstrably is, we should
not believe anything he says, we should
only look at what he actually does.
If he switches sides back to Ukraine, AND ACTUALY HELPS TO DEFEND THEM, then MAYBE we can believe his apparent switch
from being Putin’s lap dog to being an opponent of Putin! I’ll believe it when I see it happen, and not one second before!
But even if he does switch back, the earlier switching sides to support Putin IS
STILL TREASON of the aid and comfort type!
No matter what mistaken prosecution immunity the Supreme Court might
have given him, he is still subject to
impeachment and removal for committing treason as President.
Congress, do your
sworn duty! Either that,
or else be complicit in Trump’s treason!

This photo posted on Instagram by former FBI director James Comey got him investigated by the Secret Service as a possible threat. The more-or-less “standard” definition of the slang term “86” is to ditch something, meaning get rid of it. The usual connotation is something nonviolent and nonlethal, although the term is very occasionally used to mean “kill something to get rid of it”.
Given the more-common nonviolent meaning of “86”, the juxtaposition “86 47” simply means “ditch
or get rid of Trump”. That’s something a
lot of us would like to see happen,
while we still have a democracy left.
Here is the offending photo that Comey took and posted, of something created on the beach by someone
else:

The following quote is the text of a letter I sent by email
to the Washington DC offices of Representative Pete Sessions, and Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz.
Quote:
Donald Trump has been committing treason of the “aid and
comfort” type, in full view of the
public, in two related ways. One is damaging our NATO alliance to the
point our allies no longer believe we will come to their aid, if they are attacked. The other is promoting a “peace” solution for
the Ukraine-Russia war that gives Ukrainian territory occupied by Putin’s
Russia, to Russia as a condition for
ceasing hostilities, which is a “win”
for Putin by his own definition! We can
argue about the Supreme Court’s decision giving Trump immunity from federal prosecution
for his “official acts”, but there is no
implied immunity concerning impeachment for his acts of treason, as witnessed by millions on live television.
Trump has been extorting various universities, media companies, and law firms to do what he wants, by withholding their funding, and in Harvard’s case, by threatening their tax status because they
would not submit. Extortion is a very
serious crime in all 50 states!
Again, we can argue about any prosecution
immunity per the Supreme Court, but this
really is a crystal-clear case of his abuse of the powers of his office! Abusing the power of his office is an
impeachable offense, and has been, since the very founding of the Republic.
Trump through his minions has deported thousands of illegal
immigrants (and a few bona fide legal US residents) to foreign prisons without
any due process, and has a demonstrated
history of defying court orders about this process. This is in utter defiance of the Constitution
that he swore to uphold at his inauguration!
He has said in public that he thinks his “policies” pre-empt
Constitutional due process protections.
This is a horrifying violation of his oath of office, and of his duties as President! It may not be prosecutable, but it is most definitely impeachable!
I am calling upon you to put a stop to these gross offenses! Grow a spine and oppose this would-be
dictator, while there is still time! Do the job you swore to do, when you took your oath of office! Or else you are demonstrably complicit in all
of these crimes and offenses!

The extortion and deportations, with demonstrated contempt for due process of
law, are possible because Trump’s
appointees are not generally qualified or even competent, but instead utterly loyal to him: they are willing to commit any atrocity or
illegality that he wants. That has
effectively weaponized many agencies for retribution against Trump’s enemies, and together with massive indiscriminate
layoffs, rendered many others
dysfunctional with internal chaos. Those
are the hallmarks of conversion to dictatorship seen before in history, with many previous “fearless leader” cults.
To this I would only add Trump’s egregious lying to the
public, about almost everything. Nearly every time anybody has fact-checked
his claims, it’s been “pants on fire” or
very nearly so! There is absolutely no
logical reason to believe anything he says,
about the economy, about
immigration, or about the effects of any
of his policies upon you!
You might not want to hear that, but so say the facts! You are entitled to your own opinions about
any of these things, but you are NOT entitled
to your own “facts”! There really is
such a thing as objective fact and objective truth. And for the broadcast news media, many of you seem to have forgotten some years
ago, that reporting the objective facts
and truth out-prioritizes any equal time given to political opinions. The recent extortion is making that failure worse
yet.
As to Presidential impeachment, Andrew Johnson was impeached but narrowly
acquitted, essentially for abuse of his
powers of office just after the Civil War.
Richard Nixon was about to be impeached, but resigned before it could happen, over the same basic abuse of powers
offense, regarding Watergate. Bill Clinton was impeached, but acquitted, over lying to the public about a sex act in
the Oval Office with an intern. Donald
Trump was impeached twice during his first term as President, and narrowly acquitted along party lines by
the Senate both times, for essentially the
same abuse of powers offense as Johnson and Nixon, plus inciting the Capitol riot (an
insurrection against the government).
This time around, Trump
has (1) two counts of treason, (2) multiple
counts of abuse of powers, many leading
toward establishment of a dictatorship,
and (3) thousands of counts of egregiously lying to the public, as the grounds for impeachment yet again.
I’d much rather see this done within the laws and
institutions that we have (but soon, before
Trump can completely destroy them).
Revolution in the streets is a lot messier and harder to clean up afterward. But it has to be done, one way or the other, and soon,
before the conversion to a dictatorship is complete (which is what the
Trump “fearless leader” cult is really all about)!
What I
recommend you do: contact your federal
representation often, and encourage them
to do something about these crimes and that threat to our democracy! Myself,
I have done so around half a dozen times in only the last couple of
months, and I will continue!
I also think that Trump will sooner or later become aware of
me, and try to take his retribution by
abusing my Social Security or my Medicare,
or by using the IRS against me,
or by even trying to deport me (a 5+ generation native-born American
citizen) without due process. He could
do that to any of you!
But, I consider this
opposition to him my civic duty! My oath
of office upon entering the Navy more than half a century ago demands it, and it had no expiration date!
If a
majority of public input runs against Trump in their feedback from
constituents, some few of these
Republican representatives who are not part-and-parcel of the Trump “fearless
leader” cult, might actually try to do
something about him. Faint, but a hope!
For all of them, their
oath of office demands it, yet so many
fail to abide by their oath, which
should tell you all you need to know, come election time, if we ever actually have any more real elections! It takes only a simple majority in the House
to impeach, but a 2/3 majority in the
Senate to convict.
Thurgood Marshall was right! Make your voices heard! Or else fight it out hand-to-hand in the streets! THAT is where we currently are!
Update 5-23-2025: I have sent email letters to my 3 federal reps every week since posting this, beyond those mentioned in the posting as having been sent before this was posted. I really am practicing what I preach! I just sent anther today. And I will continue sending them! I urge all of you to do the same! Unless they hear otherwise, they will continue to believe Trump and his miscreants have majority support, and will act accordingly.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., our Health and Human Services Secretary, has stopped our government from recommending fluoridation of drinking water, based on false theories that it might do harm.
Fluoridating water at the concentrations we have historically used, prevents a significant portion of tooth decay, without any known harm. You use just enough to be effective. The data shows this to be true.
The water fluoridation risk is really all about yellow or brown stains on your teeth with too much fluoridation, versus enhanced rates of tooth decay with too little. There are no other scientifically-known side effects except those stains!
Kennedy is entitled to his own opinion, but he is NOT ENTITLED to his own “facts”! There really is such a thing as “absolute scientific fact”!
Using too much of anything can do harm, as also can using too little! A case in point is life-sustaining oxygen itself: too little causes death! No one denies that! But, too much also causes harm, up to and including death! You really do need an adequate amount! And the range of adequate values is known!
Earth’s air has volume 20.94% oxygen, corresponding to about 0.21 atmosphere partial pressure, out of 1.0 atmosphere total at sea level. We do fine up to 40% oxygen in hospital oxygen masks, but anything above that 0.21 atmosphere is an enhanced fire danger. People do just fine very long-term from there all the way up to 8,000-9000 foot elevations, where the oxygen partial pressure is about 0.15 atmosphere.
Long-term, that suggests that 0.155 to 0.21 atmosphere partial pressure of oxygen is quite safe. Short-term, both lower and higher values are known to be safe from flying experiences using vented pure oxygen masks. Those range from about 0.14 to about 0.8 atmosphere partial pressure of oxygen. Too little is too little, and too much is too much. So you stay in the range known to be adequate.
So also it is with fluoridation of water. Kennedy cannot make good decisions based on bad information! No one else can, either. He’s also wrong about vaccines, and for the same reason: false beliefs!
I vote with science, which has proven to be self-correcting, even when what was thought to be true has instead proven to be wrong. Politicians who spout false narratives like Kennedy CANNOT claim that!!!
